I just finished this great book ( www.goodreads.com/book/show/25… ), and I feel a need to gush: I usually avoid Christian lit because I find it sappy, and annoying, but this is an exception. It is a refreshingly honest (and hilarious) portrayal of Christian teen culture, and a spot-on commentary on the Evolution vs Creationism controversy. The whole time reading this, I was like "Damn, why doesn't Hollywood make a movie of this instead of all the fundamentalist crap they're churning out? That would be a Christian film worthy of a watch."

So apparently pterosaurs had feathers too.
A new paper published in Nature reveals that dinosaurs weren't the only feathered animals running around in the Mesozoic. Their cousins the pterosaurs were also decked out in plumage, not just hair-like filaments as previously thought.

Obviously this has huge implication for the evolution of feathers as it pushes their origin right back to the early Triassic. It seems that dinosaurs and pterosaurs must have shared a common feathered ancestor!
